What’s the best thing about your job?
Every day is a challenge and I find myself learning something new every day. I enjoy helping people resolve issues and I work with a diverse group of people with different experiences, who are willing to lend a helping hand without questions. Never seen anything like it before.
What do you find the most challenging at EAG and how has it developed your career so far?
Being fairly new to EAG and getting dropped into several projects and not really knowing the EAG Way. Not only being held to the high standard of EAG but trying to exceed them. I like being held to my commitment. One thing I have found myself working on daily here at EAG is improving my organization and task management. It’s helped me get through some rough days.
What advice do you have for prospective candidates that want to join EAG?
Outsourcing is not for everyone; it requires a certain type of mindset. Make sure you fully understand what the job entails and what is expected of you. Ask as many questions as possible. EAG is made up of great people who enjoy what they do. You will not be bored at EAG and you’ll have a lot of fun doing it.
What’s one thing – either industry-related or not – you learned in the last month?
A lesson that came late in life and I feel I should have done it from the beginning. I used to take things for granted and never competed against the best. I always had the potential; I just didn’t have a motivation. Quite honestly, excelling at what you do does not really require a motivation it should just be a mantra for daily life.
What do you like to do in your free time? Any favorite places you like to visit?
When not stuck at home during a Pandemic, I enjoy traveling with friends and family. Denver, Co and Destin Beach, FL are two of my favorite places to visit. I also enjoy cooking when I have the time.
Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
I enjoy building model trains. Back home in Florida, my parents’ garage is converted in a model train display. I also have a pretty big watch collection, some of my colleagues may have noticed I hardly wear the same watch every day.
How do you balance your career and family?
I’m usually pretty good at having my weeks planned out. Everyone has probably heard me say “Every day is a holiday” That’s how I live my life. When I’m at work I’m fully invested, but when the workday is over, it’s all about me and my family.
Who inspires you and why?
That’s easy…my father. He is the reason I am who I am today. Growing up, my father taught me many valuable lessons, specifically to be kind to everyone and to never give up. These simple but important lessons have shaped my life in its entirety. My dad is the kindest man that I have ever met.
